I had to look up Munchausen disorder/disease. I have heard of it but have
never known anyone personally who has had it. There are not many suggestions
anyone can give, but I will give my input. Has your girlfriend been
diagnosed with Munchausen disorder by a specialist in the disorder? Does she
admit she has the disorder? You mentioned a little while ago you have a new
doctor. Have you told him about your girlfriend's problems and how difficult
it is for you to deal with it?Do you have a herapist/psychiatrist/counsellor
to talk to about your anxiety over your girlfriend's problems? Have you read
a lot of information on the Internet about Munchausen disorder? The more
information you have about it, the better. I read on a several websites that
it is difficult to diagnose and can be resistant to treatment, because the
person who has it denies having it in many cases much like an alcoholic or
drug addict or any addict. But for you, there comes a time when too much
stress, especially prolonged stress of any kind, can affect your mental and
physical health in a very negative way. Nobody can tell you what to do. You
will eventually know yourself what you can live with.
